As my children grew up I, like my mother always encouraged art in our home. One gift to my daughter to inspire her was a children’s book about Monet’s life and artistic journey. Many years later, when my artistic journey took flight I found myself on a train out of Paris enroute to Giverny, the very place that Monet lived and painted. This quaint villagepaid tribute to his life and work and was inspiring around every turn. This was one of the many vignettes that could have been the choice for a painting.
